Alcoholic drinks? Do they serve alcohol?
Excellent coffee and treats, but the people there is what makes this place great.
MoreVery fun eclectic place to enjoy some good coffee and visit. Staff was great!
Quiant little shop to get a breather from the shopping and walking. Comfy little spot with all kinds of books and nooks.
MoreThis place is the greatest! Excellent coffee drinks. Incredible homemade desserts, and an atmosphere and decor is like sitting at home relaxing. And the best stuffed pepper in the world!! You are going to love Iris, the owner.
MoreThe best coffee in 3 counties. The service is amazing. Charming place.
Love this place. Went for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary after having done the same several years ago. Was glad to see this place still open. Love the atmosphere, the great coffee and delicious coffee beans!!! Baristas are wonderful and friendly.
MoreBest coffee around and people
I love this place. The coffee and tea are great and the owner is so nice and awesome to talk to. The place is so quaint and inviting and my friends and I love sitting and talking and playing games while sometimes getting to hear a free concert with some beautiful voice singing or playing the piano. So relaxing of a place
MoreMy husband and I got the hot chocolate, it was good π
Tuesday and Thursday barista is fabulous. Look for Julie and enjoy the flavor
The coffee is wonderful and the owner, Iris Gearhart has never met a stranger. Once you meet her, you are family. Common Grounds is the Cheers of Nashville IN. You must visit this shop!
MoreGreat quiche and muffins. My wife and I also enjoyed the herbal tea! Perfect atmosphere and Iris does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome! Will be back!
MoreCame to Nashville for our anniversary and found this hidden gem this morning. This afternoon I'm back and writing this while sipping on an iced coffee with a shot of spiced brown sugar flavor and it's fantastic! I have to say it's every bit as good as the "Red Eye" I slammed this morning! To validate how great the coffee is; my wife won't drink black coffee, she drinks "coffee" (flavored creamer with a little bit of coffee), when I told her to try it she couldn't get over how smooth it was and I had to almost pry it (and the iced coffee) back out of her hands! It's good stuff to say the least. I'll be making daily stops the remainder of our trip! Iris has created something great here but don't take my word for it!
MoreIf you just want a great cup of espresso based coffee, this is hands down the best place to get it in the area.If you're looking for an eclectic place to share stories and a warm beverage with friends, this is it.If a coffee house/ thrift shop sounds intriguing, definately come here. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly. It's definitely not a high end coffee roaster with a rich mahhogony bar and smooth jazz playing in the background ; it is, however, a really good cup of coffee in a unique setting.
MoreDelicious, so cozy, and the owner was so kind and funny.
The most adorable and eclectic little coffee shop, with comfy mismatched furniture and books piled on every possible surface makes the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing place to drink coffee and read.
MoreBest coffee place in town. Iris is the sweetest, most down-to-earth lady. I recommend the delicious variety of lattes and Italian sodas if you arenβt a coffee drinker(the roasted marshmallow and granny apple are orgasm in the mouth.) They offer a diverse selection of non-dairy which is important to me. The interior is a relaxed but busy atmosphere with plenty of books, antiques, tables, and toy bin. They have areas of privacy and are never overly-busy. Support small business. They are more than deserving.
MoreVery nice. Good prices. We loved it.
This is an interesting coffee spot. Definitely geared towards a hipster audience. Their menu has a lot of variety but the prices are a little more than I care to spend for coffee.
MoreIt was good coffee.
This place is great. If I lived in Nashville, I would be here every day.
Excellent coffee and espresso. Food is good. Owner is a gem. Authentically kind place to hang out.
MoreIt was an ok coffee place. We had a bit of trouble getting anyone to take our order and then she asked my (5 year old) daughter what she wanted and gave it to her without asking me first, which is kind of a pet peeve. On the other hand, all the pastries were good.
MoreThe lady there was really sweet and welcoming! This place is amazing there's many places to sit down and relax, there's also many books and magazines to read while drinking one of their AMAZING coffee drinks and sweets!!!β
MoreA great place to go and chill with yourself or with others. From Italin Sodas to Essperos, anyone can find a beverage they will enjoy.
MoreOver priced but, the coffee was good and the people we're nice. The coffee shop itself is small and there aren't many places to sit. There's lots of old books and antiques everywhere.
MoreSweet little shop with a sweet barista. Good coffee. Quiet atmosphere. Recommended over Sweeteas if you prefer coffee not frilliness
MoreWhat a quaint place. Great coffee, tea and ambiance :) must stop
This such a cool place. Have the cheesy eggs for breakfast!
Wonderful experience. Great service, especially the young man named Matthew. He was very attentive and sweet. We'll definitely return there.
MoreIris was sweet and funny. Coffee was awesome. We will definitely return.
Waited 15 minutes to place my order, then another 15 before asking if my drink was being made (it was not!), so we left. Service was terrible and many others around left. Iβve never had a coffee experience like this before, it was very disappointing.
MoreWould not consider this a legit coffee place at all. The lady is really friendly and seems to know the locals, but itβs just sugary drinks with bad espresso. Seems to primarily be an old stuff store.
MoreExceptional coffee and tea, and even more exceptional people! Iris is wonderful and the atmosphere is wonderfully eclectic.
MoreAmazing coffe and cozy experience as well. She is the best barista in brown county for sure.
MoreThe cafe is very quaint. A cute place is what I would call it. The staff is very kind. And the food is great.
MoreWonderful place. Iris the owner treats you like your family. Great coffee and treats.
MoreLove it. The chocolate stout is amazing. The hot chocolate is tasty.
Iris is so sweet and good coffee with friends. Large soace lots of seating and things to browse through.
MoreAmazing service by Iris! She was so friendly and funny, made me feel at home! I loved the piano being played and a sweet song being sung while I sipped on my drink, which was delicious!!
MoreWonderfuly comfortable atmosphere and Iris is a gem!
We had an extremely long wait for hot chocolate. The 3 women working were extremely unorganized. We asked for 2 cinnamon buns were told they were out then watched 2 young women walked up to the side counter, asked for 2 and were given them. The hot chocolate was excellent but the service was horrible.
MoreAmazing tea and coffee, I suggest getting the Vicky.
This one my favorite coffee house in the world. I've had coffee in at least 6 countries on three continents; as far west and north as the Aleutian Islands and as far east and south as Jerusalem, Israel. I've never had better fresher coffee or anyone friendlier than Iris making it for me.
MoreVery comfy, cozy place to chill out. Iris, the owner, wasnt still long enough to get a good pic of her. Great place to hang out alone or have a get together. Quiche, Scones, huge cookies, etc...plus its a coffee house. One of those places that you walk in a stranger and leave as a friend.
MoreNice quit spot just off the main thoroughfare. Great place to relax with a coffee or tea and a snack. Plenty of seating options inside.
MoreGreat coffee, nice folks. Great environment.
Common grounds is a wonderful, family friendly coffee spot that is a place I seek out everytime I come to Nashville. It has been my favorite Cafe for the last 8 years. Iris, the owner, is the most amazing woman with the ability to make anyone feel welcomed and cared for. She always gives me a hug before I leave. The coffee comes in so many varieties, I usually get the red eye, or the Gina. She also has Italian sodas, tea and random edible wonders. Common grounds has many different seating arrangements as well as reading material. Its a home away from home, and a must visit place if youre around.
MoreQuirky coffee shop in Nashville with furniture and a piano you would find in your grandparents home. Plenty of space to sit and study, read, or play on of their games they have.
MoreMy favorite coffee shop. The owner is an awesome person
